SMF bridge cut off from Joomla

A very sad news: Simple Machines forum bridge for Joomla has been discontinued making millions of Joomla users sad and some with no options to continue with it rather migrate else where. While some of the sites that I work with are still powered by Joomla but the site that looked awesome with two of the greatest open source, SMF and Joomla is now switched to wordpress with bb-press

I find wordpress with bb-press awesome. Its fast, easy to integrate and manage. If you are looking for a forum that’s fast and which can easily be integrated into wordpress as well as it has built in spam protection, go for bb-press. You won’t regret it! Many top sites such as technorati, 9notes use bb-press as their choice of forum.

I have a strong feeling that death of SMF bridge for Joomla will migrate users from Joomla to Else where. Also Joomla has become much commercialized. Its hard to get good plugins for free. But on the other hand other CMS like wordpress have many plugins for free.

Joomla without a plugin is a static site. Even most free commenting systems aren’t cross-browser compatible and hence don’t work. Joomla doesn’t pack SEO required to make your site MORE visible on the internet. Even user friendly links are a joking matter. Consider the following link being as a pretty link, content/bla,1/bla,0/2/3. The new version of joomla seems to be promising with lots features. But having lost one of the greatest plugin, SMF bridge, the version is just a new version. The future of joomla hangs in doubt if other CMS join SMF!
