Although it may never happen, but every country’s postal service is not perfect, specially the Government Run Postal Service.

The United States Postal Service in short, USPS, isn’t doing good either although it’s owned by United States which is often seen as the Super Power of the world. When it comes to SUPPER SHIPPINg, it’s postal service ranks below private ones such as UPS.

In fact, which country’s postal service does good. Here good refers to ratings on Customer Satisfaction such as timely delivery and nothing extra you might have in mind. If you feel like it, add profits made by the company. USPS lost about 7 Billion last year alone (2010).

For a private company, profit alone determines the future of company. If it continues to decline, or never makes a profit, company simply goes away or is bought by another who will turn the tables around.

My personal experience has been so bad that I have to write a blog  here about USPS. It’s joke really.

First, people who work at postal service at USPS are working hard.  They must be careful on the road and stopping and going through every boxes out there on the streets? It’s not your typical chair job. Do they make mistakes ? Yes they do just like you when you are doing your in your wordprocessor.

Some common mistakes are :

Putting mails in the wrong mail box.

Not delivering on time.

Putting a note such as “Left a note”, as an online tracking record but in reality not doing it. The later I must stretch. I wanted to play X-Plane 9 so bad I threw about 15 dollar to get it ASAP. Tracking shows that someone has left a message twice. I have run around every where even in my backyard just in case the current windy season has taken off things even from a closed mail box ?

Lesson? If you don’t want USPS. Don’t get it. Some companies sell online but they let someone chose the delivery system. If you don’t know who is going to ship your product, it’s better to call the company and ask. If you are unhappy with USPS. Well, try others. Express Delivery by USPS requires signature. So if you are not going to be home or there is nobody at the door, or even if you have two doors, expect that you might be getting a surprise note, “nobody at home!” Don’t blame the poor driver who is working in this heat. Solution : Print out the tracking record and if possible the order details and head to the USPS store that is listed in the tracking record. You should be able to get your package. The new rule says that if you don’t pick up your package within 10 days, it will be sent back to sender. My questions is : During ordering, there is a lot of information has been given, can these order taking companies not pass that “phone” info to USPS. This could easily solve that problem.

So, to the USPS, it’s time to give your hard working guys on field office  cellphone ! If you have EXPRESS delivery, don’t make it a Rip off! Deliver on time. There is no reason why USPS can’t beat others. It’s just they are lacking tools.

If USPS goes Private, UPS and FEDEX will surely start shaking. But, just going private won’t solve this problem. If it goes private, stamps and fees will have to be increased including the Salary of these Portal Workers. Do you want what you have or do you want a better delivery ?

Come every year, we get to watch the google earth and Santa’s track. This year I was surprises to see Santa gliding right atop Mountain Everest, something beautiful and spectacular scene.

I’ve always been fascinated by what Google does during holidays. It often gives up the logo to please users. After all, you design a site keeping in mind of your users and those sites do live long. What do you think ?

A friend of mine is about to retire after working for a company 20 years. Coming from a foreign country and living here enough, I have understood that my perception about AMERICA has changed completely. My friend could go Poor in no time too. Three things here are so expensive and difficult to manage, even the average Americans can go broke. These things include (a) Health (b) Pension if any from your formal employer (c) How much you saved during those years ?

America is not rich nor are the Americans. Wealthy ? Sure.

Those away from this land, have the perception that once you land here, everything will change for better.  Although American Dollar still remains among one of the strongest currency, but it can go down way too far to ease off Export of its products; that is should American start back again. Adding to this note, you can ask  fellow from a poor nation, even the cheapest items that said “Made in America” was worth more than the gift from anyone.

It’s a fact not because its reported, nearly 10% of Americans control this nation. Their wealth creates jobs and they are Rich. It would be insane for them to share their money randomly, but rather put to good use such as to create jobs which would drive up the economy. Also they could share their wealth in the form of grants for those needy ones who won’t use it to eat but rather to get educated.

While driving down the road of a state here, in South Carolina, a women told me, “Look at those buildings, don’t they look like ghost houses? But wouldn’t you believe it, my husband used to work their. We had cotton factories and what not and everything here including steel factories. Even mills were here.  Will Americans be Rich by buying what is made in America and or by creating something that no other nation can then export such products. The only way to get jobs back is to start from the bottom up. Start a momentum saying, “Buy Made in America”, put banners everywhere. But my doubt is at the Walmart where you will get to shop clothes and even foods that aren’t made in America. Is it really Walmart that is to be blamed ? Is it because of this that people shop else where like K-Mart ? But what do I know, may be the too need to have prices cheaper.

For those who think Americans are rich and they are right surely,
you, my friend, need to know these simple facts:

• Wow CAR! — It takes a lot of hard work and finding the right job, saving or monthly car payment to keep that car shinning.  All Americans are so rich, oh, all of them drive a car. Wow! Just the thought of driving your own car makes you feel as if you are wealthy, doesn’t it ? No.  Oh well, there are bills to be paid my friend; tax, tickets, gas, annual tag, and yes handsome $ for some folks even from my own country (NEPAL) who love to name plates (name tags proudly with their name or something fancy like EVRST-31393 ), and ongoing car insurance is also a huge burden you must share, car maintenance, all are $ and there aren’t $ trees. The only one I know is work. So you must work. Work. Work pretty much all the time to get a fancy car running, otherwise, in the middle of the night, someone will tow your car away before you even know about it, simply because you missed a few months pays.
• Rent or owned – Either way; tax bills, maintenance and the roof; whether or not yours– includes the bills to be paid; water, electricity, property taxes and its all different from state to state too. It’s not to say that other countries don’t have these things, but  it is to say that those who see Americans living in a beautiful house with green lawn yards and forest-surrounded, it looks rich to the eyes only. A lot of work is needed to keep that house going. If you can digest
• Medical Bills – In other countries, 3 things aren’t so complicated as it is in the United States. After all, everyone has to make a living from the Agent to Doctors to Insurance Companies.  A lot of Americans are without Insurance. Meaning, if they have a serious medical condition and are hospitalized, they are going to lose everything they might have accumulated such as savings, cars, house etc. Yes, best Doctors are here in America but  it’s funny how Insurance Companies are more Racists than People are ; because Insurance companies get to decide which doctor can be on their plan and which can’t.  Perhaps you didn’t know about this — Getting Insurance means working with a company that pays part of the Insurance and the rest they take it out of your paycheck. But not all companies offer Insurance to Americans. And if you are sick and can’t work, many go bankrupt very easily. America does have many homeless people, but they are rarely brought to TV because viewers love SEX, GLAMOR and SPORTS not the reality !! I figure, it gives Media something to forget so to the viewers who could as well be poor gets a bit of uplifted. Try getting Health Insurance, you will probably need to put your house on sell only to meet the annual deductibles! LOL!! Best plans come around $10,000 per year deductible, which means, you must first spend that much money on medical bills,  before you are covered.  Also what is confusing is that they get to decide how far you can go, which doctor you can see, which medicine you can take. I will do a separate post on this topic, my head is spinning. Yes, If I get sick, I am in the hands of God.
• Study – Is it free ? No, my friend, there is no free education here unless you join public colleges and claim that you don’t have a job or you don’t make enough money. But you don’t make enough money, how are you living ? Even if you are admitted for free, but there are books and stuffs you must buy and their price is deadly.  Most foreign students work in areas like beaches during summer where they earn handsome  to cover 2 to 3 semesters.  Unless you have a very rich family back home or you have a nice schedule allowing you to study and work,  life won’t be easy here. So, before you embark for a journey to this land to study, ask your friend who is studying and if he or she replies this think about it. “I am going through hell to keep up with tuition fee”
• Video Gaming. American culture is now slowly drifting to reality; as they say Hollywood once destroyed the American Culture and value, now it’s the Video Games you can count. They are affordable, easy to buy, hook it to your TV and your hooked for life as some games are as addictive as drugs.  When I saw a friend of mine lose his 15 years of service with Walmart because he constantly showed up late at work (no wonder, he got fired and the reason was he was a video-holic playing game all night long).  Many parents are busy, don’t have the time to see what their kids are doing. Rich ones, can easily afford gardgets like these and many more for their kids. And give to their kids like XBOX, Playstation, Iphone 4, 3 …you name it and their kids could be headed for lesser social life and who knows… ultimate dropout from schools, lack of interests in studies, drop out from college etc, if  parents aren’t watching what their kids are doing because they(parents) don’t don’t have, kids will grow up in a different environment. Rich, must work, for there are no money trees anywhere in this planet. Many afford Nany who would be looking after the kids. A good Nany is one who takes care of the kids, not give orders. So, kids thrive in their own world; Video Gaming and watching TV.
• Seniors Must Live on Their Own – In many countries, family live together. Not the same in developed countries like this one. Seniors have to stay alone, drive, shop, clean, cook, and live on whatever the pension they are getting from Social Security System of their Government. Many of  them rarely get a visit from their siblings. Oh, how do I know ? Because WORK is always the first priority for everyone here and visiting loved ones is probably once a year; during Christmas ? People move where jobs are. Widows get their Pension too, something unimaginable for poor nations to see this.  America is rich. But not richer than you might think. In one line America equals the land of  Bills. Many Americans live day by day, bills by bills. They enjoy life though. There are lots of gifts for them; oppertunities, freedom, government, law and everything works for them. Even the tired ones have a better life here then else where. But there is always that fear here, has this nation lost it’s control. When I was a kid, I used to hear, “AMERICA is the #1 SUPER POWER”, to me, it meant, a place called heaven. Today, it means, a place called “WORK” .

When I see days when Americans  have even much better life than what they have now.
They are truly considered Rich and Wealthy.
It will happen sooner or later. I see two things must happen:

• Export : Made in America (Lower the Dollar so other countries can afford to buy your products)
• Americans buy what is made in their land. (Start a campaign like in the election and have every American buy what is made right here at home)

Americans are rich, because they work.

p.s. For the INSURANCE I am going to write another post because it’s been a month of research on it for a friend who needs it desperately but can’t afford it.

I like Ads to observe creativity of the concept designer and also visual presentation for which you won’t be getting up and grabbing that phone to pickup. Are there laws in countries around the world for any kind of punishment for ADs that lie ? Forget about  the question for now, for Ads don’t belong to a TV Network and they will surely put any ADs. But once the Ad is in the air, who monitors them ?

You and I can only observe. You are lucky with that live and pause TV, perhaps you will have enough time to find where you left that huge Magnifying glass so you can find the smallest fonts used on TV Ads which I have no clue others call it blueprint or are my eyes so hurt looking at um and trying to make any sense of it all.

First we all need to find the answers on small fonts.

• Suppose I wrote a letter to you, you owed me money, and my letter was so tiny that you had to go buy a magnifying glass. You would probably slap me.
• Smaller, the better. Put them in such a way that laws are on your side so on your body will sue you, forget about viewers because they have already seen the largest font $99 and FREE SHIPPING, Hurry, time is limited. Oh yeah, don’t you just love it when they raise the volume, Only so and so remaining, call in the next hours to get 3 pairs FREE or don’t be fooled if they are throwing you a car! LOL, please help me, my belly hurts.

Without ADs, perhaps nothing would be here to watch. Ads also help us create jobs. So many AD agencies are busy, bunches of people are working day and night for so many different projects. Ads that are shorter and funnier seem to be fun to re-watch time and again, perhaps I would be likely to remember it and buy product or services from that company.

Ads that I would certainly not accept are

• Any Ads that directly or indirectly compare to another company. Be the best on your own is my motto, so those kind of Ads are like No No to me! Those who are the best need no comparison, they are here, have been around and folks know. They were not born yesterday unless your product was for a baby; did you really create one for  the baby of such age! You Fool! LOL, help me out here!
• Ads that makes me a complete fool
• Ads that are just too good to be true; make money, get rich quick kind of SCAMS. Such ads are allowed to be run, what a joke! It’s okay if one guy or network makes the money and bunches of others lose the job. Economy won’t pick good or bad people. It’s just Economy.
• Any ads that leaves me with bunches of words that I can’t read. I call them, …. there, just because of those, I ain’t gonna buy your product.

Here is size of Magnifying glass and links for you on where to buy. But you can use what your grandma / grandpa used. Get one, stick it somewhere near the TV.

You don’t even need to enter the last number to know what’s popular. I’m guessing there will more sells of stuffs like caps, hats, t-shirts, DVDs, and what-not-everything with 2012 theme.

So is 2012 really the worst year for EARTH ? Is showing popular searches really worth it or are these search engines feeding us  fear ?

The Movie 2012 : First,  the movie 2012 itself is gaining a lot of attention, it shows up everywhere OMG.

I bet those who enjoyed  The Day After Tomorrow and The Independence Day, won’t miss this one. Previews always look pretty, and boy 2012 previews look like the last computer animation on earth. Is that it ?

I had expected the offical site to be something similar to others like the2012movie.com or something, but this is perhaps a great marketing strategy. I love the music score for this film as well as the animation.  whowillsurvive2012.com Check out when this movie is available in your area or sign up for updates. Who has ever pointed a finger to an  official movie site ? They always have the Top Notch websites, don’t they?  Flash oh yeah, tons of it! My question of course is, do they have a third party who does these web design work. I hope Movies makers create more Employment Opportunities. As for this one, Sony ? I think Hollywood needs to give away the web design business to free-lance web designers, what’s your view on this one ? If you think 2012 is coming soon and we all are going  to die, why are you so narrow minded ?

Rumors and Viral Stuffs

First, everyone thinks that you need an equation to prove something– of course for science, i.e. What exactly do we need here ?

Many sites claim that there are already enough signs and many more to come by the December 2012! Moon was hit just today by twice the force of a regular GUN, but hope it’s not a big force that changes our solar system or a system that man kind’s have failed to discover but it is linked to ours. If is always in our head, let me add one more, If, another planet just started moving towards the Earth, a friend told me today. Don’t worry, I call him a lunatic, who knows, what our GOD knows.

• History Channel among many others have pretty interesting shows, not endorsing anything, but simply putting the facts before our eyes. Watch`um or just google`um with related keywords. Dooms are always in titles and in phrases here and there not only on H but also on D and NetGeo.

Yours and Mine Gossips

I talk with friends and many believe that 2012 is it, and some  say isn’t

I’ve seen it. Believe me. One friend has changed his lifestyle completely; now seems to enjoy life even more so. One who used to save a lot is spending a lot–I just hope he will have some left after 2012. And there are others who don’t give a penny to 2012. Others are taking interest in about things very seriously, so 2012 is positive too. Not to mention a friend planting a tree, for he was the one screaming to his grand-mother the other day; OMG I would have only 2 months to drive!

If the end is coming, why would not a single Government Talk. Over 190 countries/Governments and not a single one of them can tell you anything about it ? No way. They don’t know. They know. Who cares ? They are in the mix. They are fighting. Government is in the mess itself. May be I’m wrong. May be you are right. What the heck. May be somone knows the answer and we will find later. let’s just have fun for now…

As for me, this is just another count down to Y2K.

But

a whole lot fun,

as well as  gigantic ball of momentum, interests, and a global awareness that just keeps on rolling as the days approach nearer.

We owe it to ourselves to do something for the planet for giving us a life.

I have not fully versed with the term youtube partner, but I will surely buy a cap if that’s available somewhere which reads “I am a youtube partner” and I will wear it when I am filming. Then, perhaps when I am making a crazy video, people won’t call me Lunatic anymore.

The idea that you can think, visualize and show to your audience isn’t easy at times. Say you wanna create a film where you the director himself or herself has to act like a 5 year old baby, and the scene requires you to cry like a baby with snot coming out of your nose. What would the audience think of you, or even your viewers or subscribers. In fact, Is it bad to think from the viewer’s prospective ? Recently, I was shooting a film (not much detail here for you because you won’t enjoy the film later) and I was called lunatic, looser and all shorts of name calling. I handed them my some sort of visiting card made out of a used order-paper which I use in the Restaurant where I am a waiter. And I get about 1 to 2 hours a day for shooting films, that’s all. And On weekends my hungry websites call for updates; fresh contents etc so I can’t do much with filming

To be honest with you, there is no joy for being a partner with youtube at all. Yeah, you get two features (auto play). Which I believe should be given to all users. If you think youtube is a TV, then when you are on a channel, why do you have to make a user play a video, play it like a TV channel

Youtube, please give that auto feature to all the users, because a channel should play when you click on it, right ?

The other thing you get when you become partner is branding options.
Now why can’t they give this to others, I have no clue. It’s just a few options like the banner on top of your channel, a small image showing your channel icon something extra that appears where you see links like “Add as a Friends”, and a short banner that appears on the right-hand side of the page where your video is being played. All those should be given to regular users, let them have fun with it, what’s the point of just giving them to partners.

I believe the more you separate users from partners, the more users you are going to lose. They will be going somewhere else.

Ok, you might just have those top directors and partners and some corporate videos and nothing else. IF YOU GIVE ONE THING TO ONE USER AND ONE THING TO ANOTHER, you are hurting people out there. If the trick is to ask for all users to apply for partnership, then you should send them emails.

Now for you and me,
I enjoy youtube to have FUN, that’s all. They say, once you become a partner you can earn money. I doubt that I will be making a living out of it. And for those who are, they must have given up their real social life and locked up in a STUDIO room, may be I am wrong or may be they are able to balance both; their life and youtubeholic life.

If FUN is your goal, stick with youtube. Don’t quit here. It’s still the best video sharing site around today. It also continues to add more features for better user experience. Adding to that, Look, Now, Commentary goes down (that should kill time for spammers to move down, lol!). They now added links to socializing sites so you can share your videos easily with other sites. That is a very good move. But they continue to add features, don’t they ? It makes you wonder will all these extra features make youtube a slow site!

Subscribe to this great personality who talks about youtube, freedom and has helped many users who were once banned by youtube, or may be I haven’t yet known him much. But he is among the highly respected youtuber.

A few advice for users who have just become a youtube partner

• Don’t try to monetize a video that violates the terms of conditions, for example, copyrighted music, recorded TV shows, music videos and so on. Why? You know the answer. You don’t want your good video gone.

Stay cool. Don’t expect the money to pour down from sky like tomorrow.

• Just becoming a partner doesn’t mean you are better than the other users. So use that auto feature to promote other’s work unless your videos still doesn’t have what you believe the views they should be getting. Say, you uploaded a video a year ago, you wanted about a thousand views by now, then feature it on your channel. Be a promoter, a leader, help others to grow by watching their work, commenting and also featuring their work when you can or are willing. I often like to call videos as Works. In fact, many of us spend a lot of time making our videos, don’t we work? Videos = Our Works.
• Respect. Respect. Respect. It’s not enough to write it, but that’s the rule. Respect to be respected back. Don’t write comments boosting yourself in commentary; example; Hi all, I just became a youtube partner.
• We all started with nothing, our first videos were craps. Don’t delete them Please. Keep them because they are like your photo-album. Would you tear all your old photos ? I know a lot of people delete their old videos onces they become partners. I have seen this happening. What the heck, show your honesty. After being a partner, don’t walk an inch taller and act like you are some kind of a BOSS of youtube. You know You aren’t. The day when all youtubers can earn money from youtube isn’t far. There might be a day in future where the partners world be renamed as “USERS”, you just never know.
• Setup a website if required so you can present additional materials to those who might be interested in your work, such as photos, articles, tips etc or even share your experience in words instead of videos that you might have made. Don’t ever think that there are always youtubers but not readers. Having a website isn’t necessary but it does help for the users who care about your work. Your website can give additional features that youtube doesn’t give. For example, you could present audio of a song you created for a film, but you would like that audio to be downloaded by your users. Now you can do that on your website. Another example? Say you have photos of places where you did the filming, you can share those photos on the website. If you don’t have the budget to create your own website, you could use blogging sites like blogger.com, wordpress.com, yahoo 360, etc.
• Yeah! Take a vacation or something like that once in a while. This applies to all sorts of users. Too much youtubing can damage your social life. Keep a balance. Here is what I thought, you might find this article interesting. Here it is Blogging and Youtubing Makes Sam Alone – a none fiction story, if it matches with someone’s real life, please consider it as a pure coincidence.
• You might celebrate one day, but, you will stop celebrating soon. Because you will feel like youtube has now made you to work harder. This feeling can come naturally. You will be trying to make better videos, unique videos with creativity in mind, something that perhaps you never did or did it a little. Upon becoming a partner, you are completely thinking about next video, next film all the time. Be prepared to listen to others. LOL!! “Sam, what the bloody is wrong with you, I have been talking to you for the 3rd time. You ignore me one more time, our friendship is over!” or another friend saying, “Oh my Lord, what the heck happen to you, you used to smile, where the bloody hell are you? are you here or in another world? Sam? Sam? If you think too much, I might need to take you to a mental hospital okay? LOL!!.
• You will ask yourself, I don’t have a lot of subscribers? But those who have bunches get so many views even on a short or shitty videos? How do I get subscribers? There is an article here that talks about it. But subscribers are two types: 1st are those just subscribe and never watch your work, 2nd are those who will subscribe asking you to subscribe back, and 3rd are those who are interested in your work and wants to keep up with your new videos. Never-ever look at the subscribers number, just do what you used to do. Watch videos and if possible try to hang out with big guys (big = top subscribers). Do collaboration type of videos with them, if you can. For samples, see Mr. Safety’s channel, Renetto’s channel and others. Just search at youtube.com smpfilms or renetto. You can easily find their channels. I haven’t known others, if you know others, just comment for the benefit of readers here.

I wrote this post right after I came back from a walk in the woods. I was smelling the air, listening to birds singing, feeling the cool breeze on my cheeks. It was awesome, outside of youtube. I was having fun there too. Then all of a sudden, a man appeared right in front of my nose and said, “You Dork, watch where you are going.”

What the heck was I doing there? “Thinking and Thinking and Thinking like a complete lunatic ?” — Yeah, that’s it…………….. There you go; a joy of being a youtube partner.

Gambling – How to scratch the cards or your head?

I do it with penny. Before you scratch, pray for a while. If it’s a dollar scratch card, aim to reveal the word called “Ticket”. Oh, my lord, I just got my money back. Scream now as the winner! Hurray! That’s what I do. Lol!

Here is five, give me all randoms. The lady at the counter suggested that instead of getting random cards, that I get all one of a kind. It worked the fist time when finally the last card won enough to get my money back!

The most ever I won was $100. The lady screamed, you are the winner!, are you going to share it with me? I told her, I wish I could but I must have spend twice that amount and never won any except this one.

Do you gamble? You probably have. No?, please don’t lie to me. What about that scratch card you received as a christmas gift from your dad?

Gamble for fun but don’t let it become one of your bad habit. Just being an smart a** there but wrote down what my friend told me a few days back.

If you don’t have the ticket, you don’t have hope. The chances of winning a powerball is none, really! But we do see and hear about the winners. Had they not bought the ticket, would they have won? Play safe, keep your hopes alive! $2 a week ain’t bad. People blow many times more on other stuffs such as smoking and drinking.

When you don’t win, scratch your head with the scratch card or lottery ticket. It’s like the luck is locked beneath the head. It might notice the scratch. While at work, i noticed my friend very sad which is not uncommon as i have seen it many times. With my happy face i shouted, “be happy and be optimistic, your future will be bright.” . Turning his face towards me like a bull without the horns he growled, life is a bull (and the word that is not suitable for everybody) tied together and then you die.

I got terrified and left him alone.

After an hour or so i asked him, “give me some explanations!” . His words started coming out one after another like bees from a disturbed hive… Global warming, high gas prices, war, high cost of living , got to pay for your education, hate among cultures and religion and race and hearing about dooms day is coming , all this and that all craps. So there. I ask him are you in a bad mood? He Replied, “No!”. Then I asked Him, “Are you happy? ”

He replied, “with all those stuffed in my brain, you except me to be happy!”
