Ok. I know the U.S. has the football season, and all around the world, there are always the none stop actions and seasons of what we call it FOOTBALL.

Here, we means the world and over here in the U.S., as you know, SOCCER which has less interests and it’s pretty much absolute isn’t over either. So don’t blame the nation for falling behind. But it has it’s own popular game the world can’t afford to play AMERICAN FOOTBALL.

If  you are a fan of either, and have the latest iPhone 4, this post is for you:

First the Football (Soccer) :

EA Sports have a way to make business. What they do ? Well, they give you choices and guess what ? Updates are rare! I really mean this. EA will probably push another game or app instead of giving you the customer care (update to it’s existing software)   So grab that $.99 iPhone App which gives you a complete game play of the recent FIFA 2010 South Africa, this is the only choice for you for SOCCER by EA. The rest is just a waste of your money.

For the sake of keeping this post none referellal, you will need to find yourself in your app store, do a so search there : EA SPORTS and you should be able to find it. But what’s the point of playing just one app ? Grab the “Pro Evolution Soccer 2010″, it’s OS 4 ready. Many of the games of EA Sports Games aren’t OS 4 Ready. So if you play for a while then turn off your Iphone, you will probably have to reload the program again; you will be crying for the loss of time. When you can’t do, multi-tasking; the new feature of OS 4 for Iphone, why buy any app for your Iphone 4 anyways ? So, it does makes sense to look for the () <—- for any application where you should see OS 4 Ready. If not, you won’t be able to do multi-tasking.

Why do you  think EA is behind Gameloft in updating their apps ? My reason is simple and un-based -  EA wants your wallet ! Gameloft, gives you more choices. Either way, they are probably winning since we all love apps and buy them.

Now,

For the AMERICAN FOOTBALL fans, the SUPER BOWL is here again. So which one are you going to pick.

• Search in App store for Football you got two choices there; one by Gameloft NFL 2011 and one by EA Sports.
• The EA is the price of seven burgers while the Gameloft is only 1 burger.

Did you get any apps to pick from my random thoughts ? I hope you did .

When you are buying an App for your iPhone 4, it makes sense to wait when a new app comes out. I mean wait.  Wait for a month if you have to.

Price will drop, that’s how the developer starts a new game again, for he or she won’t be just developing one app and rest.

What’s your view ?

First of all, unless anything comes closer to Apple’s Mobile Device– The term Iphone (now officially in dictionary with Capital I not lower case I!)  It will remain the top selling gadget for personal use or as a gift to your family member.

Having a Iphone and not having a PC ? There is something wrong. Get a PC plus Internet. How are you going to have fun without games and applications at home ? PC With Internet in areas where there are no Gs. Even in this developed country there are only located in big cities, out in the country, you are out of G. But that shouldn’t stop you from holding an Iphone.

You have it for a while, it gradually takes over everything. It will automatically join your Wifi at home or in pubs, and you can pretty much download free games and paid ones.

The topic here is WAIT !

Developers are away in apps offering the full feature of Apple’s OS 4; Iphone’s retina display. And not to mention the multi-tasking feature. When you are in the middle of a game and you want to switch back to another game, the other game starts all over again; a sign that the app has yet not been made for OS 4.

So, instead of buying Apps like I do, those 0.99 almost everyday (believe me, it will be your habbit too– checking out App store, and playing games to kill times or enjoy what the heck this freaking life is offering to me. You might have a better one, perhaps you aren’t like me. But sooner or later Iphone will get you, you will be hooked, you will be on Iphone like a man on cigrates.

If you are really really Hungry for games, please try these games, they do very well even though they have to fully give the TRUE functionality of OS 4.

I’m only sharing you the once that I have purchased and tested to see if it at least does multi-tasking. Don’t you get bored to start a game all over again ? Come now ! )

• Angry Birds. Enough has been said about this game on the web so I will finish it with one line. Highly addictive & hours of fun for less than a buck !
• Word Series Poker.  This game is addictive, great game play and absolute Multi Tasking. Come back to where you left off. Awesome.
• Now for Soccer, I don’t which one to recommend for you, all of these, as of the date of writing, has not yet been tested for OS 4. So if you like wait for a while while the game restarts all over to get you to where you left off, then you can try it. In my view Gameloft beats Electronic Arts interms of update and support. So here you go for Soccer fans: Real Soccer 2010 by Gameloft FIFA 10 For Iphone. FIFA South Africa 2010
• Now for football fan, EA knows what to do, grab this a bit expensive game for your Iphone 4. NFL 2011

That’s it from me for now. I’m not going to share the list of games which simply have emptied my wallet because what’s the point of having a game that’s not made for Iphone 4 ? Need a game for Iphone 4 ? Better wait. Developers aren’t sleeping either. But I bet you anything, they ain’t gonna spend a lot of time patching your 0.99 games to be OS 4 compatible. EA Sports will probably regenerate another game and sell it instead of a Patch for all those soccer games. So there. Wait for a month or two before you throw your money on apps for Iphone 4.

What I learned from my purchases ?

Most games have a free version.Get It ! Why not ? Give it a shot !

If the free one utilises full feature of  OS 4, get the full version. OR, OR, JUST WAIT for a month or two.

While Apple is shipping FREE cases for your Iphone to fix so called Antina-BUG, it might worth adding a few things to safe guard your highly addictive gadget, the new Iphone 4g you just recently purchased.

If you went to a store and ordered it. Don’t get any accessories from the store, believe me and believe a lot of users, check out the AT&T Forum where you will find 70% unhappy users.

I had a terrible experience getting a case. They made me wait for a month, then an email arrived saying the order of the phone case was canceled due to bla bla reasons. I suspect, the 1 reason was : “Out of stock”. Oh well, thank you AT&T for making me wait and perhaps many more people.

Iphone 4G delivers extreme graphic. Screen is EXTREMELY FRAGILE.

So you better get a screen protector. For now, get any scratch protector. That should work. Look now, it records video in stunning quality. So you must protect the back part of it as well. To be honest with you, you need two things or both (a) a robust case that will keep your Iphone new all the time whether you drop it or bump it and also (b) Insurance.

Let’s wrap both of them quickly:

1. For tough case, there are two choices and nothing really beats the BALLISTIC case, for it has four layers of protections and it also has a robust hostler and screen protector comes with it. What else do you need ? What I found about it after getting it :

• It’s got some weight, so don’t blame because it’s tough. For some test videos done by designers, you can search on youtube.com
• When I got mine, a friend told me, so you spend so much of money on this thing? Now let me test it. Don’t do it ! I had to fight back to get back my new Iphone. Just because you got it, doesn’t mean you have to test it. I don’t know much, you decide yourself.
• Nothing rocks here. Designers must have worked so hard to make everything fit perfectly here. When using hostler, it covers the front part of the Iphone and secures it fully. When you put everything together, there is no shaking or anything like that. It’s like a box. It’s like as if the designers must have worked to the millimeters or even closer to get this thing so right.
• There is a little air-bubble on the screen but it’s not noticeable. It’s always the same case with any screen protectors I have used.
• A delightful case, that will make you forget about the EXPRESS order you so dearly picked while ordering. Overnight shipping as shown on the page ain’t so at all. But if had to wait a month to only get a cancellation order  from AT&T store. Hit that EXPRESS button. It’s worth it.  Overnight is about 3 to 5 days. My friend got it on the third day by FedEx.

My Friends’ order was canceled after waiting for a month and not to mention how easily it was sold to him; a guy (sales rep) just showed his/her Iphone with wrapped in a case and (he/she …for now) slammed it on the floor as if  it was a baseball.

The screen was broken and he/she said, “this never happened before!”. We thought, he/she just wanted a new Iphone may be ?

We both kept saying, sorry, sorry, you didn’t have to do that to show us. The person just laughed and said, “Oh, I will get it fixed.” The person sold us Superior Iphone Case. We ordered it, well, it’s a history now. Thought we were gonna get it like with in 15 days ! No way ! CANCELED. CANCELED.

God knows what case that was but we know in our email, it reads Superior Iphone Case. Looking up in AT&T’s forum to find out is as confusing as going to the store and talking to the folks. But, if you are the AT&T Supervisor, wouldn’t you like to know if your sales rep is ignoring calls to a client to whom AT&T sold products and services ?

The other phone case that comes closer to BLASSTIC is Otterbox (as per my knowledge), but it only has 3 layers of protection. But it’s beautiful too. If you aren’t going to be a testing your phone, should you really care about layers. It’s always nice to have a case that has everything.  Depending on your budget or style see which one you like and buy.  If I had not heard from the BLASSTIC, I would have got this one. A bit of investment is worth the risk of waiting and having your Iphone gone bad.

Even with the case, you never know ! So go ahead add a few extra bucks to insurance. Apple recommended Insurance is way too expensive, and I’m guessing you already know which one that is. Anything highly rated by those who use it, helps me make a good decision on purchases, be it software or hardware. Try Squaretrade. It seems to be the choice, for less than $100, $50 copay, but read the fine prints like your phone has to be working for so and so days, and also remember, it does not cover theft/lost protection.

All being said, Iphone 4G is cool, costly and highly addictive. Once you are on, You will be buying apps at least 1 per day Free or not and spending money like crazy.

If you are not in any G areas, (please don’t laugh; I meant to say G Spot),  you bought Iphone 4G only because you were Tech Savvy.

Accident happens. It’s no excuse to visiting unwanted sites on the Internet.

You forget which sites were reported good or bad by our awesome portals like google or yahoo or bing with security toolbars such as the FREE AVG and a few others like Google Toolbar.

Upon displaying search results, we are very careful about visiting only the good sites and completely ignoring the ones marked as  “This site may harm your computer” or Red X marks next to links.

Accident happens not because we click a lot, but because there are way too many things to do for us as soon as we get online.

We are way too impatient! Gotta check mail, gotta watch videos, gotta watch news, gotta do  this and  that. Did I forget to mention Facebook, Youtube, MTV, Hulu, Fancast, Twiter. One of  these days, you will get stuck on a site for sure.

If, you or someone in the family accidentally got into a site where you are locked. There is help. Stay cool. Summer is hot this time around though!

The back button won’t  take you back. Site comes back and may be a pop up button too. Closing the window will bring you a popup again. Closing  the Popup scares us even more. Yes and No or Cancel buttons are like multiple choices. The question in our head remains the same, Which one will install adware, spyware, virus ?

What makes us so frustrating is that some Pop ups won’t close even after clicking  the [X] button. Let alone the fear we have; We still have the curiosity about the X button– what will it do ? Close? Really ? or Install Craps ?

With our heart beating faster than normal, we are stuck  in a Quick Sand.

Which one of the buttons should we click ?

I often laugh a lot when I get stuck. Why don’t they make some funny pop ups.

We are not so stupid. We understand when you make us difficult to leave. That simply means you are trying to make us stay on your site or install something that we don’t want.

Solution to get out :

• Hold  ALT key then Press F4 and see if it closes; it may not.
• Hold  CTRL key then Press F4 and see if it closes; it may not.
• Press what we all call the magic key. Press and Hold CTRL, then ALT, then, DEL,  click on the “Start Task Manager”
• Delete all instances of iexplore.exe and firefox.exe

Next time when you start your Internet Browser such as firefox, start a new sesson. Hit that home key right away. If you have multiple tabs on. Close them ASAP. Also Good Luck !

Adding to the popup (Quicksand) survival….

by clicking “NO” I have had more adware installed. But please don’t take  this as my advise to click “Yes” either.

A pop up with Yes or No options is never a good advertisement nor a useful program.  If you hit the back button and the site won’t let you go back, why go back and visit that site again. We wouldn’t !

Should I stay or Should I go ? The Answer is Go !

Being a Tech Savvy as I have always been, I couldn’t sleep the day they put it out and when I got it. I spent more time having fun then calling anyone. Actually, with Iphone, you really play games, you forget about your family, you forget everything. Once you go Iphone, no other phone comes closer. It’s because of so many features not limited to are; design, applications, simplicity, powerful and the list could go and on.

As the stories of dropped calls, Iphone4′s Antenna Issues were all over the Internet, I said to myself; “You must be joking” Why did they not test this on the beta mode ? They must have. But could it be to allow other companies to take some share of the revenue from none other than consumers? But why ? Holding a device that can buy you a nice desktop and you are holding without a case ? I guess, Apple assumed nobody is going to hold it without a case. But they do, they just like to show their phone as if they belong to “Mango” class. I call this class which puts a phone next to a drink when the class is dinning, Puts it where everyone can see, holds it on his hand and walks, and takes photo holding an Iphone. Hi Mango Class. Nothing wrong holding a great device. But now, oh well, the class is gone. A form will take care at apple.com; so I heard the rumors. And you can still hold it though. But not naked like you wanted.

Anyways, like Steve said it, nothing is perfect in this world. Other phones too have problems with reception. Read the entire story here.

The new technology as they claim, isn’t perfect either. I am talking about the FACETIME technology.

To me, i appears like just another web cam, really. Except you can do web cam now from any where. If you were afraid your spouse would watch it at home, now you can do it from your car. Talk to someone you have hiding from your spouse. Talk? No you can watch his/her face; lips and facial details. Wow! Aren’t you so happy ? Doesn’t your heart sing ?

But wait, If you don’t have the G signals where you live, you are out of luck. Facetime needs WIFI or G. If you see “E” icon on your iphone, you are probably going to wait for hours or it may not work at all. I have yet to try this.

Isn’t the internet filled with chat rooms and Web Cams blamed for family separations like divorce ? Search has proven this, but you don’t have to read from me, just talk to someone close to you, he/she has similar story to tell you— “I dumbed him, I found out, on my day off, he was doing web cam with a girl across the planet!”

Will people use Iphone’s FaceTime wisely ? It is certainly a productive tool for business. Instead of listening, you can actually watch. Watch ? Face? Family ? and what else ? May be a company can afford to buy these in bunches and give to everyone, boss could just on his chair and talk to them instead of making a few walks; “Let me see the background… ops, you forgot to turn off the monitor! (Silly you, you were playing game, were you ?)

Does your spouse have an Iphone 4 ? and if your answer is Yes.
There is now extra WEB CAM on his/her hand and you should be worried about it.

As the phone goes from simply audio to stunning videos, it is a matter of worry for many families.

Since, consumers are to be blamed. You bought the product. You used it. You are responsible for your actions.

Since, Internet is available via your Internet Provider. Don’t be fooled that your Facetime isn’t different than the Webcam. If only apple had some sort of hidden feature that the other person could unlock such as to see history of face time, that would perhaps make some men and women worried. Wait a minute, wouldn’t that be again violation of privacy ? Simply put. Worry if you don’t love someone. Otherwise, set him/her free.

Well, FaceTime is really Video Time. Watch out everyone. Use it wisely. Use it with friends and family to talk and nothing more. But if one cheats, there is always a way. And if they do, they will get caught. Time just takes the role. Hope families stay together.

Divorce and Separations happen even without the Internet. FaceTime – pretty cool or pretty nasty. Depends on how family usage it.

CNN – no matter what you can say about it, it beats the rest of the news media on breaking news, intuitive and broad coverage presented online and on cables.

Getting CNN on the phone is also very easy.

Just type cnn.com and it will let you know the address where you need to go or it will automatically goto it. Awesome.

Depending on your phone. Everything looks awesome. Doesn’t it ?

Breaking news are there. Most of tech news remain pretty much the same except a few new entries for day (based on my observation of 7 days).

With Economy like this, politic has more than Tech. It’s not a blame for CNN. What’s hot will always sell.

As for Iphone users, they can view the site from Iphone’s built in Safari (internet browser) You can view exactly as the site is or auto formatted for Iphone. Videos are awesome, it’s FREE. **** (don’t forget those four stars, my talk will come back to it later)

Digging deeper, I found myself playing with Apple Store or just App Store which we find it on our Iphone’s 4G.

No body can argue that free apps have helped apple’s Iphone rocket lauched a bit further into the space.

After knowing that your phone bill will be pretty big, all you will be looking for is “FREE” and not all FREE is what they seem to be. Some are cool others have ADs and some will bomard you with not one but bunches of popups (well, internet pages?)

But what about Apps for news ? There are a couple (as of this date of writing) that actually beated my expectation. But it’s very sad that in the “FREE” category there is no CNN. What a joke ?

You need to pay CNN ?

That’s why I put the topic “Could CNN BE ALL ABOUT MONEY?” I read the description and oh yes, reviews by none other than the newspapers and top CEOS (Now, how do I know this ? go figure…… who is going pay money for CNN when even the paid version is AD Supported. I couldn’t believe it. )

CNN ! Please release your app as free or remove Ads on the content if someone is paying for it. Why buy an app that as ADs ? I might consider throwing a few bucks to your App if you could just disable the Ads and wonder how many people will buy your App. But perhaps not everyone likes your broadcast with so many others to choose from such as Foxnews, ABC, etc.

My guess is that CNN is targeting only 1% of the population of United States ? Would you be getting more if you targeted the rest ?

To me, after buying a product, seeing content with Ad simply means, money. Is CNN all about money ? Without Ads, are you really going to be broke ? But wait… If you are offering a paid application on App Store and you are offering contents supported by AD, why not make it free ?

For the sake of this article, real football that has more fans than the population of the united states, I will be using Football as it is not Soccer.

Being the 2nd sport in history of this nation, soccer remains like a joke for this nation. Why didn’t this 2nd sport become number 1 or why is the international team  doing so poorly inspite of so many years have gone by ?

You can argue but many teams win just by the grace of god and for sure, U.S. team is no exception. This year FIFA 2010, they did better than last year. But, you had 4 years and this is what you gave to the world ? USA 1 GHANA 2

While the game is called Football else where, here it’s called soccer – duh me! Well, they can’t call it football because there is already a sport here called Football which has to do more with hands than foot.

But the country goes crazy over it, for many, it’s not just the game, it’s the TV commercials that they can’t wait to watch. So what kind of fans are these ?

* Love a lot of scores. But their another popular game Hockey counter attacks that fact so does baseball which is fun to watch even though every throw is nothing more than a goal kick of soccer in terms of timing the throw and hitting it, running is also similar to soccer expect here you know where you have to land.
* They love funny Ads. Ads can be done all the  time. Why do they have to wait for a game like super-bowl for such ads to come up ? (the final match of the football of American i.e.)  You already know the answer, Superbowl is about funny ads for the fans.
* Young players during their high school lover soccer. Girlfriend starts dating another one who plays Football. He gives up soccer. OR the interest of Young players are diminished by the Football gamers who think toughness is a game. If you quit soccer because of this, tell those folks to keep on ruining on the ground for 90 minutes, they will quit. They are stronger because there are tons pauses; ads; challenge by coach, fauls, bla, bla, bla. It’s the time to regain the stamina only to move a few yards and no more. For soccer, make one mistakes, your team could go down hill. Not EXACTLY the same for football.
* These are the fans who are in the circle of the Economy cycle rather than game. Here is the loop : Rent a TV – watch football – return that fancy TV along with a big sofa only to show your friends how rich you were – laugh at TV ads and le  them make money while you laugh. Simply foot, these are the ans who love ECONOMY.
* I didn’t know about football, but after watching it, I have also gone crazy about the game. It’s so fun, It’s amazing. What’s even more fun is having someone sing the national song horribly. After watching several games, my desire stops to watch 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters.  4th is simply enough. So, these are the fans that love a game that moves and stops, moves and stops, they don’t love game that is none stop action.

To finish this topic, I see a horizon where U.S. Soccer is the #1 sport.

First as you know, when compared to other sports that this nation plays at International level,  their Soccer performance is poor. Is it because they haven’t had more of the international friendly matches. No way! Is it because they haven’t been qualified for FIFA world cup. No way. So what the heck is worng then.

This is what you need to do USA Soccer TEAM!

* Average Soccer Player gets less salary than similar player in Football in America. I goggled it for a research for hours, and I found this to be true, now if my claim is false, slap me.
* Have more tournaments apart from just a few like Major League Soccer. Look at other countries and see how many local tournaments they have. It provides them with skills, knowledge and it also creates fan base.
* For one year, simply cancel your football and run soccer. Oh well, I know. I know. You TV folks are worried about losing some money. Give those ad money to soccer players.
* Go back and watch every International soccer matches the country team has played. You and I know the answer. Country simply does not have good striker when it comes to taking chances in set pieces like a free kick.
* Start the line-up the scratch.
* Along side some great shows like American Idol, bring a Soccer Idol or something.
* Bring a few international friendly matches over here in U.S. so your players will know how to play in International Level. Just having one or two good players won’t make a U.S. Team.
* Since it’s fare. Get 1 or 2 striker from another country. What  the heck if you can’t find 2 or even 5 from your 307,006,550 people ?

anything else missing ?

U.S. is a great team in name but it doesn’t have enough POWER like other International teams such as Argentina, Brazil and even Mexico. Things have to change and it’s not hard to change. Otherwise soccer will remains as it is; it ain’t a game for u.s.!

I don’t have friends. Period. I mean good friends. I have may be just one or two good friends. That’s it.

There are good friends and there are bad friends. Right? Well. That’s a stupid sentence to write in the first place, anybody knows. Sorry for taking your precious time.

To share a few of my personal life with whatever little friends I had, I used to write a few junks like as we did with geocities of Yahoo.

I don’t know how active that platform is now or is it dead already, I have to check it out.

Thesedays, I have turned towards FACEBOOK and HI5 and other social networking sites.

I can’t imagine what will happen if my mobile phone starts communicating with FACEBOOK. Not yet !!!!

Will I be bombarded with messages like? Hey, I am just making a coffee.. I am off to a vacation for 2 months in Bahamas or I am in the island having a great time.

And guess what ?

You are working, I mean you are really really working hard somewhere, and you escaped lunch because the manager told you so. Now when its dinner time, you have no clue what will be on your plate. You arrived home late, stomach is crying out loud for some food. There are some snacks scattered near your game console where you last played your video game.

Cats and Birds are hungry for food. You Feed them first, for you know, they love you and they never ask you for nothing. Pets are better than friends and family, it’s a fact ! Prove me wrong.

Before you can get some hours of sleep, you turn on your PC to get online, because it has become your habit.

On face book, you know you are going to be on a very large list of friends and everyone wants to talk to you so you put yourself offline. You have so many other ideas in your head, and if there was a machine that could accept them, you could turn them into cash right now. But you also know that a day will come by and ideas of yours or mines will surely be in the form of CASH not some lousy texts like these. No, I am not lucky. I am just looking towards the future, knowing past was for learning, present is here right now, and future; here it comes !

In face book and others adding friends makes you feel good because you accepted someone’s offer. Not accepting makes you feel low. Is it only me ? I think you should avoid it if you don’t know the person.

I know you should at least know who the person is. Right ?  Even so, what are the odds that a friend you see on facebook isn’t the real friend and same goes with other social networking sites. So, after all, friends can be both real and unreal. Now I like this sentence better.

Let me write it down one more time. In social networking sites, friends can be real and unreal. Let’s add equation here real means good/bad friends, unreal equals good/bad friends. Then there we have it again. Same like the real life. You are left to decide. Giving your entire life history to a site can be deadly, that’s what he said. He said, his friends started fighting as one liked what he wrote and one did not.

I like Facebook because I don’t need to remember email address of friends who have moved. It’s easier to have just a page to keep in touch with them, but it seems harder as the number of friends grow and you can see as they play with their pages, you have no idea who has just recently changed his profile photo. Is that the real person I was talking to earlier ?

Facebook’s Recent changes in security is still so complicated. Why do they make it so harder to change settings and what on earth does it mean friends of friends to a newbie of facebook user ?

Face book used to be for schools and colleges, since it’s now like world-space, I feel like it’s nothing but a giant table where everyone is sitting typing and passing on messages and sharing stuffs. It feels like a giant cybercafe where there is no FREE coffee. Also bunches of  “What’s on your Mind?” is nothing but copy/paste of fav quotes from the internet. WOW! Now it’s easier to read good quotations because you don’t need to search the web.

Speaking of stealing someone’s photos etc, it’s even so easy now. You don’t need to take it from me. Look at the photos under someone’s photo and look else where on the web.

Could a lot of time on social media destroy your actual life ? Plus, if your friends are one social networking site and you aren’t, what are you suppose to do ?

It’s time to stop my head spinning, oouch! ouch!

I think it’s time to make it a habit to visit social networking sites perhaps once a week, twice a week, or may be once a day. I know a friend who usages every time something pops up on his iphone.

I’m scared… Should your real life be wasted, because you are simply wasting your time more than necessary ? Do you really need to know if your friend is making a coffee when you don’t even drink a coffee? Do you real need to know your friend is going on a vacation when you are burred under debt ? Oh well, it’s life. If you wanna know what your friends are up-to. Keep going.

You can only digest so much ! So, if you are looking for a tiny tip from someone who knows nothing about Tech, please be careful out there when you giving everything about your life to a web site because some of your REAL LIFE could be wasted as your VIRTUAL LIFE takes over! Social Networking Sites are highly addictive.

I’m a soccer fanatic. I’ve played FIFA 2002, 08, 09 and now 10. I loved 2002, it wasn’t the best graphic but it was good back then. I’m old. You are new. Don’t compare those two sentences.

Fifa 08 was good. Required less computer resources. So did FIFA 09. Now here we go FIFA 10.  I wasn’t planning on buying FIFA 10, but when they said, oh you are going to get a free SOCCER magazine for one year, I thought Oh my god. So I pre-ordered it, didn’t sleep one night waiting for that download manager (a software developed by EA for its Down loadable games) to show me the link so I could download. Pre-release didn’t really start until after a day. I thought it would happen at 12:00. No way. When I got it. The very first thing I did was tried to signup for the soccer magazine. I gave up after repeated try with that promo code which redirected me to a page full of Ads. Was this a technique by the magazine to create money from google ads, I have no clue and I have given up. If it works now, I won’t care, for it has give me headache.

FIFA 10 is good, sure, you will need a pretty fancy computer. I mean by hardware standard here. Don’t have a graphic card ? or enough RAM, its better to play old games. FIFA 2002 will be just fine. If you do have top-notch pc, then FIFA 10 is for you. The download version doesn’t require CD so it’s no hassle to play. I’ve been playing on my budget HP laptop. Everything is pretty much okay except I don’t get to enjoy the graphics. Not even the 3D grass.

If you are here for help on how to make FIFA 10 run so you have a smooth game play, turn off these:

• High Resolutions such as 1280 by 780, (try 800×600)
• Turn off 3D grass. Believe me, why the heck do you need it anyways if you want your players to move like ghosts ?
• Turn off the lines men. Punch them !!!! Oh yeah!
• In the camera setting, zoom to the MAX. Believe me. If you try to zoom out, FIFA 10 starts working harder to show you every players movement, hence it starts slowing things down.
• I read somewhere that turning off the Radar also helps improve game play. But if you have a camera zoomed all the way, how the heck are you going to know who is where ? Use the RADAR for heavens sake! Don’t listen to anyone else.
• Minimize the systems, and camera’s zoom level until you see a smooth game play. Try this in practice session instead of the Kickoff. I think FIFA isn’t that smart in knowing what you are trying to do was only to see which settings would get you the smooth game play.
• When you are online, try playing with someone who is nearer or has a good IP response. This is shown to you. If you have on DSL and the other player is on a Dial-up, you are probably ready for some slow play. I mean really really slow play.
• Playing with a game pad won’t improve the visual part. But you won’t have fun in a game such as SOCCER where you can’t even dribble a ball. So get yourself a game pad, I recommend Logitech dual Action gamepad (costs around $19 or so) Official site is here

Sad part about FIFA 10 ? It’s like our operating system DOS which now has become Windows 7 ? Such a revolutionized game still lacks International teams ? I couldn’t find Nepal there. Oh yea, sure, the coutry is there but you need to import players, or probably they will include a package called “Buy Nepal league!” Same goes for many others which you need to buy individually. FIFA 10 is another offering from EA games that only wants you to buy more to enjoy it. More RAM, Graphic Card with more Memory and now more bucks for more Leagues.

Although FIFA 10 has its share of cons, it does have pretty cool pros too.

• Goal Keeper is smarter. Not like the FIFA 09 or earlier version where He would make silly mistakes such as even toughing a ball that doesn’t need to be touched only to give a corner to the other team.
• I couldn’t find any different when playing in World Class vs Legendary, perhaps there is something I am missing. Perhaps Legendary is something that freaks everyone out. Try for yourself, if you have been playing for long, you don’t notice much difference except the goal keeper is much more SUPERB in this setting.
• Man Marking. Why do you have to wait for this feature for so long ? I love this one. Just before you are about to take on, it gives you a simple guide about the other team and how they play. This is a great screen which can help you create your strategy to play and hopefully win the game. Try using man marking when you know who the real striker is.
• Create a player who looks like you ? — Simply by uploading your photo. This is something FIFA had been lacking for long and wonder why ? Is it because the technology wasn’t there ? Give me a break!
• Create your own formation;  Basically to infinite level, really!
• Manager mode is more user friendly then before. The interface is cool.
• More Achievements have been added so you don’t get bored. You don’t really need to practice a lot to get into the action.
• Be a pro – is now much more of what you want rather than what FIFA 09 offered; limited.
• All in all, FIFA 10 for PC is a great game. If you love soccer, you will be hooked for sure.

What may be annoying to you in FIFA 10?

• How many times you hear, HAND BALL ?  Way too many times. During a 12 minutes game. I have had 12 freaking Hand Balls.
• Your PC’s minimum requirement makes your players look fuzzy or even Ghosts.
• Way too many outs. When you are trying to attack near the lines, balls always go out. Throw. Throw. Throw.
• When your wife YELLS at you to sleep, but you still want to play! LOL !!

How to win ?
Some players are really good with keyboard and mouse, but
I think the most fun is when you have a gamepad. Here is one I’m using. I bought this one after knowing it’s good rating at amazon.com.

a few of my tips…. but you are probably the #1 player out there!

• Practice a lot. Learn to do some tricks with the second  stick.
• Stick with one team and see how it plays.
• Play online with other players who have similar rankings as you. Also, at times, don’t be afraid to play with top guys and see how they are winning. Challenge yourself, that’s the key to winning!
• Try defending when you are down by a goal or two. Change your mental status. In such case, it’s possible for the other team to attack with all the players near your goal keeper. If that’s the case, get the ball and go run…………. you might make a score. You can switch the team mentality at any time. I have no idea if it works good when you have the ball or not.
• Don’t over do – (WTF?) Don’t make your players run all the time. When you are first playing, put the players status bar on even though if your system doesn’t give you smooth game play. After you have practiced, remove the player’s status, try to play as if you are on the ground. Would you want all of your players to run for so long and not make a single goal? Would they have the stamina to play for the next half of the game ? RUN only when you need to.
• If the other team is attacking, get the ball ASAP to the other side. A long pass to the Forwards could result in a goal. Get the ball and run.
• Learn to make longer passes instead of shorter ones. Long and high passes can bring you closer to the other side. But long passes require practice. So do it!
• Squads can be updated on real  time. If you are playing online, FIFA 10 can be as real as it gets. I love playing picking BRAZIL as my team, but out of the blue a player was gone. Would you believe it ? It’s like you are out there in the real world.
• FIFA 10 lets you create a player. All you have to do is register, then create a player by uploading your photo. Tips on how to get your face look right is can be found here. Its fun playing this way, because you really are in the GAME!!
• When shooting, see how far you are from the goal keeper and know how much pressure you need to keep on the game pad’s key.  Too much ? You will blow the ball! ….  just joking there !
• There seems be an easy way to get a free kick, at least it was in FIFA 09 and it continues. When you are near the goal keeper’s zone, stop the ball or move it slightly your way, attacker could make a mistake and you have the opportunity to score. When you play with the computer, this is EXACTLY what computer does often to get a free kick, and often on that last minute and you are tied! Because the PC is going to make a perfect free kick.  When shooting free kicks, it’s all about angle and the pressure you apply on the shooting key (3). Often tapping for less than a second is enough, but I could be wrong or is it all about luck. Don’t assume one of your player won’t run if the ball bounces back. So be alert even when you are making a free kick. When you get a free kick, tell yourself, “this is a goal”, and make it!
• Remember, in World Class, Goal Keepers are extremely hard to beat. If you are one to one with goal keeper, keep an eye to see if he is moving towards you, if so, make a chip shot, that should do it! Try shooting from the center if you can. From center to left or right angle should do. But FIFA 10 has made goal keepers HERO. Watch out for them !
